My baby's got his back to me, all snuggled up consoling himself at the thought of me leaving him for 2 and a half weeks. I'm worried about him. Yesterday the guy who's going to stop in to feed him and change his water and litter everyday came by. Kamikaze was pretty well behaved, but hissed at him at one point. I haven't seen him hiss in SO LONG! I asked what had happened, and the guy said he had whispered to Kamikaze that he needs to go on a diet!
So, yes. Kamikaze's a big spoiled baby, but he'll be okay- right? Cats are resilient. I once read in a book somewhere that he (all cats) actually just regards me (cat owners) as a bigger litter-mate. He better be ok.

Good news, though- that Clare's back!! Yay! Go visit her and Kiri at Eat Stuff for more fur-babies.

Poor Kamikaze! Yes, cat are resilient and I'm sure that he will get over this new experience very soon...
My cats also had a cat sitter for 10 days and they survived very well! They looked very satisfied and not shocked at all. Anyway, it's better than leaving them in one of those cat homes...
What a baby! I know the anxiety, about leaving him. Sometimes I don't want to go on vacation because I don't want to leave the silly cats! He'll be fine. He'll be a bit lonely but he'll get over it. He'll sleep a lot (and that's different how?!).
Awww, Kamikaze will survive and a cat sitter will definitely be much better than boarding in a cage.

If he doesn't have an image problem then he's alright, just a little...husky. That's all.
I just got done watching over my brother's cat (a feline that holds no love for me), and we managed to get along just peachy. When I was around he did his thing (slept, ate, and stared menacingly at me) and I did mine (slept, ate and tried avoiding eye contact with aforementioned beasty). I think after a few days he realized that his master wasn't coming back and he warmed up to me....even if he did hiss a few times. Point is (if there is a point) that I will echo everyone else's sentiments here, and your own, and say that cats are indeed resilient and the Kamikaze will undoubtedly be none the worse for wear.

Big K will be fine... but it's hard on us to leave our kitties isn't it! He looks so snugglicious in that picture... if I was there, I'd snuggle my face right into his fur!
