Die?

It's probably not too difficult to kill this blog, is it?

Why would you want to? Please don't, I enjoy your posts...

Thanks, man! And I enjoy yours, too! Very much. But don't you ever want to crumple your blog into a ball and whip in in the garbage pail?

I understand the urge to back off from blogging now and then, but do hope you continue. I don’t read here every day, but when I do it’s always interesting.

Jenn,

Yeah, there are times when I sit down at the computer and the last thing I want to do is blog. Especially when I'm busy with other stuff and blogging starts to feel like a chore more than a pleasure. Before I went on my short hiatus, I had sat down and written a short "so long and thanks for all the fish" type post with the intention of being done with it but I opted for the hiatus instead, just in case it was a phase - which it was. Maybe a short (or long) break is what you need? Come on now, how else are we going to know the next time you see some "Southern Exposure"? :)

Yes-- take a break. Forget the blog for a while, then come back to it with all the tender feelings that accompany the rediscovery of a long-lost love.

Or at least a long-lost pet.

A year or two or three ago a blogger who goes by the name of Nomad once questioned the continued existence of his blog.

If memory serves correctly, I rode a bus out to that back-water village in which he resides and bitch-slapped the shit out of him until he stopped being such a wuss and promised to continue blogging.

And just look where he is today.

Don't think that just because you're a woman I won't do the same to you.

Don't do it!

Noooooo! Break, holiday, whatever, but come back!!
I would have to do more than just take a bus... but I too would use "methods of persuasion" to get you to continue! Chili chocolate??

Scott,

Nothing like a good bitch-slapping to get the creative juices flowing again!

Jenn, the thing is you have virtual friends all over the world. In addition to being entertained by your adventures we care about the person behind the stories. Your writing is always excellent, and your unique way of seeing and describing the world your encounter (I love what you find on your walks to work!)is a true gift.

I guess I'm saying that no one wants to lose the relationship we have with you through IGTS. Maybe it sucks right now and maybe you need a break, but don't you dare go and "die" on us!

Just know we are with you.

I understand. I'm having a lot of things happen to me in my personal life and sometimes I just can't think of what to say on my blog. But, don't throw yours away! I would miss you!!!

It's not hard at all, but I hope you don't. Take a hiatus and come back when it's fun again.

The blog serves you. You do not serve the blog.

The Bohemian and I grabbed a bottle and discussed this very same subject a couple months ago. Neither the great TB or myself have had the time lately to update The Bohemian in Korea. We felt that we were doin a dis service to the 3 people who actually read our shite. But alas and alack The Bohemian reminded me that internet friends are just as real as people we meet on the street.

Yes, we sometimes take for granted that they will be there but as sure as toast falls buttered side down we all mourn them when they are absent.

I read and enjoy your blog even if some of it is devoted to those slinky evil felines that I'm deathly alergic to...hehe

It would be easy, but not for all the people that enjoy reading it. I think I'm the only person that reads my blog...and I'm fine with that. It's good writing practice for when you finally find your direction and write something that rivals "Me Talk Pretty One Day".

Lighten up. If you haven't seen this already, you will snort and guffaw your way back to optimism and sublime content. Be well.

There's a lot of wisdom in this thread.

Now ignore it all and kill the blog. That'll show 'em.

Alright, alright... who ordered up the high pressure, hot water enema up in here?

I'm lock and loaded for action!

Any questions?
